Our friend Avi Yadgar sent us his report of the 5th Israeli round.
The 5th race in the 2007 Israeli national 1/8 buggy series took place at the Hot Wheels racing club. Race director and head referee was Yoram Alkobi, assited by Doron Kiwi and Amit Graiber. The track was very moist, and dried throughout the day, giving comfortable racing conditions. The excitement began at the end of the B main, when the leader, Alon Maltzov, had an engine cut at the last lap. Surprisingly enough, Meir Azulai also had a cut, 10 seconds later, which did not allow him to finish second, and Alon managed to get to the A main. After the exiting A, still results were determined at the very last second. In fact, it were only 2 thousands of a second (0.002sec’) that separated Nir Sivan, who managed to finish third, and Dotan Halevi, who finished forth.
This week, the last race in the Israeli national series will take place, and the league winners will be declared.
