Another great report by Gene Hickerson and this time on the RC Pro Florida Nitro Off-road Series Round 3 held at Mills Pond, FT Lauderdale.
Round 3 of the RC Pro Florida Nitro Off-road Series was held at Mills Pond in FT Lauderdale this month. This is the 1st year of the Nitro Only series in FL, and round 3 was the largest turnout thus far with 95 entries. The track was an all new layout, 20 feet longer with all new clay for the big race. All of the pros from Florida were there to compete for the cash payout that the RC Pro Series brings to the races.

The 2007 HPC International 1/8 offroad buggy and truggy race was scheduled on 15th to 16th September on weekend. Sadly our team could not be there to cover the event so we relied heavily on other report. Thankfully, first notice the result and report from RCTech forum presented by X1CR(X1R2) driver, Arghhh the nickname. The report originally from Team Xray / RB from Singapore courtesy of Team Hobbylink via RB Product Website. To them we thank you for the report. Here in full.

INTRO :
The annual buggy event attracted 60 drivers from all over the region, namely Singapore, Macau, Taiwan and the host country Malaysia. This included OCM and Nanda factory team.

We just found out that the Team Associated RC8 buggy is already on the USA shore and orders coming in and distributors busy now. We are not sure about the facts of this, but our guess it is probably true. Well, you decide from the forum in RCtech here.
One thing for sure, it has not arrived our Malaysian shore, yet.

Here Ryan Maifield RC8 buggy from the recent indoor racing - neobuggy.net
His RC8 buggy do look good eh

Just another great product from Hudy for the great Xray buggy, The 1/8 Offroad Buggy Droop Gauge.

Proper chassis droop is a critical yet frequently overlooked set-up feature of modern 1/8 off-road cars and truggies. It is essential for proper handling of the car to get balanced down travel on each side of the suspension and as such HUDY is the first RC company to develop and produce the first purposefully-designed 1/8 Off-road large-size droop gauge support blocks.
Using the support blocks is super easy. Simply remove the tires from your buggy and using flat HUDY Set-up Board #108202 put the car chassis on the support blocks; place the front support block below the servo saver, and place the rear support block below the rear suspension mounting. Using the #107711 HUDY Chassis Droop Gauge with elevated scales, measure the droop under the wheel axle hex. Use the downstop screws to alter the suspension droop on each side of the car; the shocks should extend out far enough that they do not limit the suspension arm movement. Ensuring equal and proper suspension droop will allow the car to achieve a proper traction level and weight transfer depending on track conditions. Please refer to your’s car set-up book to learn more about how to adjust the droop of your buggy.

Here an interesting RC Video done by the RC Driver Magazine Team. Driven by Kevin Trudel. The track is at Wolcott Hobby, Wolcott CT. Now probably you have reason to get the Hyper 8.5.
Enjoy it.

This just in direct from The Machine himself, Gene Hickerson. The winner to The Brazil National Championship Cup that was held in Fortaleza from September 7th-9th.

My CEN teammate, Andrew Smolnik, and I flew to Brazil on Wednesday night and arrived Thursday morning after a 18 hour flight. Thursday was a free day, so we headed to the beautiful beach across the street from the hotel. All of the racers that arrived early were there. We had some drinks and lunch and then headed to the track to check it out. Asa Branca Speedway was the nicest R/C track facility I have ever been to. A perfectly groomed all grass track, awesome driver’s stand, full bar, pool, and even a night club on the premises. The place was 1st class all the way and unlike anything I have ever seen in the USA. I also have never raced on grass before, so it was going to be a challenge.
